While attending Tulane University, Dr. Schwartz earned a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology. During this time, he developed a strong interest in preventive health and the relationship between nutrition and disease, dedicating research time at the Ochsner Medical Institute.

Trained alongside leaders in facial, body, and breast surgery. Served as a Clinical Instructor, continuing to mentor residents and medical students.
Founded the hospital’s first Department of Plastic Surgery. Performed over 5,000 surgeries and 10,000 cosmetic treatments. Established PIH’s first nipple-sparing mastectomy registry and served as principal investigator in an FDA clinical trial.
