Your Lipedema Consult Process
Available in person or via secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth — a relaxed conversation to review your history, goals, and options. Your consult fee applies toward any surgery you choose to book.
Getting Started
Your Journey Begins Here
Lipedema consultations are available both in person and via secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth.
These sessions involve a relaxed, inviting conversation to review your medical and surgical history, current medications, specific areas of concern, and your functional and aesthetic goals.
Applied Consultation Fee
Any follow-up consultations or phone calls after your initial visit are entirely complimentary, and your consultation fee can be applied toward any surgical procedure you choose to book with us.
Physical Exam & Custom Options
A physical examination will guide the discussion regarding your surgical treatment options, including a detailed explanation of the surgical approach, associated risk factors, and the recovery process.
Actionable Insurance / Financial Quotes
Upon the conclusion of your consultation, you will receive clear instructions regarding the subsequent stages of your journey.
Insurance Pathway
Our clinical medical assistants provide a comprehensive checklist to assist our insurance team in assembling your prior authorization packet.
Self-Pay Pathway
We will curate a personalized quote encompassing surgeon’s fee, anesthesia, OR expenses, CosmetAssure, and compression garments.
Surgical Deposit & Clearance
To reserve a tentative date for your procedure, a $2,000 deposit is required, which will be fully applied toward your total surgical balance.
We will also provide a medical clearance order form for you to share with your primary care physician; this document outlines all laboratory work and diagnostic scans necessary for your upcoming surgery.
Securing the Date & Clinical Prep
Once your medical clearance is successfully reviewed by our clinical team, your surgical date will be officially secured. We will then schedule a detailed pre-operative phone call with our nursing staff two weeks prior to your procedure, as well as coordinate your post-operative visits and ongoing support.
Day Before Surgery: Meet with Dr. Schwartz to review the procedure, receive detailed surgical markings, and finalize consent forms.
Night Before Surgery: Our anesthesia provider will contact you directly to address any lingering questions and review clinical specifics.
